Dream Log #10

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay in between posts. Just been having another round of dreamless sleeps and otherwise boring things going on at the moment. I remember this one being sorta long, but I only remember the last few bits of it.

I was in some sort of ruined temple (again, I've been playing too many video games lately) and suddenly I see a quest pop up to my right. So even though I can move around in first person and know that I'm myself, I see a quest log to my right of the "screen". There are these little shiny white birds flying around that I was supposed to be catching for this quest, but if I wasn't fast enough, they'd turn gray and die. As I was trying to do this, the room fills up maybe a few inches with water, but I didn't notice until a blowfish wriggles onto the platform I'd been standing on and tries to eat the little birds that were hopping around on the ground. I remember being particularly disgusted by the typical fish-gasping-for-air look and kinda scrambled away from it. I then made the comment "Well, at least he's small" to myself, and then I realized my horrible mistake. By then I knew I was dreaming, so I sort of backed away from the fish to one of the exits of the room. He said something to me, but I can't quite remember what it was, and right after water started pouring from his mouth at a scarily rapid rate.

I ran into the next room, only to find that a chasm was blocking me from going any further. When I turned around, the fish was now considerably large, and when he opened his mouth in that terrible gape again, it took up almost the entire doorway. The water had risen by then, so I was pulled with the current towards the fish. As he swallowed me, I tried to alt+f4, even though they wasn't a keyboard or computer in sight. The strange part was that I didn't end up in his belly or anything, I was back in the room and the fish's mouth had some sort of weird portal spinning in the middle of it, so I grabbed his uvula and pulled it back, causing him to essentially swallow himself. He returned back to his tiny form before disappearing under the water shortly after. Then I woke up going "What the fuck?" as I normally do.

Another weird one, eh? Seems to be my specialty. Have you ever dreamed that you were inside of a video game, or played one so much that you dreamed of it? Let me know in the comments!

Dream Log #9

Hey everyone! Seems like my dreams are coming back on a regular basis! I'm really glad I'm updating this thing a lot more than I did before. Last night's dream was a little weird, but not as long as the last one.

Apparently, a friend of mine that I haven't seen for a really long time was wanting to take me to get a massage and other girly things I usually never think about doing. As we were walking down the street towards the building, I noticed that it looked like it was inflated, like one of those play-house things you rent for little kids' birthday parties. We head in and find that not only do they offer massages, but there's a built-in Dairy Queen in one of the corners. Ignoring it, we go enjoy our massages and stuff. Though I don't remember that part at all. Then, I remember "waking up" and stumbling into the kitchen, only to find the refrigerator full of boxes with the DQ logo, as well as ice cream cones in the freezer. I was oddly excited about this prospect, so I sat there deciding which one I wanted to eat first. Unfortunately for me, that was the exact moment that I woke up, and I was very disappointed to find that the fridge was ice cream free.

Have any of you ever had a similar feeling, finding something nice in your dreams and be so convinced that it's there, only to realize that it isn't?

Update

Hey guys, apologies for not posting in the last few days. I've been busy with a few things of late, and I've been sleeping a ton with no dreams to speak of. Kinda sucks that most of my entries are reliant on that, but it seems to be working for now. Anyway, just wanted to make a quick update on that. I may be looking into getting a driver's license soon, so that'll be exciting. And stressful. Yay. I'm gonna go try and pick up one of those booklets and read the living shit out of it. Maybe test myself or something. What do you do when you need to study? Leave a comment below, and as always thanks for following/supporting!

Dream Log #8

This dream was really detailed and long, and I don't remember as much of it as I did this morning. I was tempted to get up and record it so that I'd be able to refresh my memory, but my bed was much too comfy to leave at the time. So I guess I'll try and remember as much as I can for your amusement.

The "start" of the dream began with me being charge to house-sit or something. I don't recall doing anything up until it starts to get a little strange. I decide to walk around a bit and open some doors. Some rooms are empty, and others have wargs in them for some reason. This part made me laugh a little, but I briefly debating on whether or not I needed to kill a few of them for some deeds. I've been playing  LoTRO way too much. Anyway, when I come back out, a lot of people are standing around in the kitchen, surrounding an island table with some sweets and beverages on it. Everyone is holding some form of container, and some are even reaching for the chocolate and baked stuff and putting them inside. Most of it looked really delicious, so I grabbed a small bowl and started filling it with bags of tea and chocolate bars. Apparently there was some sort of crisis that was about to take place, and confectioneries were the best form of sustenance.

Some time later (I'm not really sure how long, must've been during a gap I don't remember) and I'm not in the same neighborhood anymore, and I'm not alone either. Instead of the nice suburban area I'd been in previously, I somehow end up in some trashy trailer park with my boyfriend in tow. What I recall the most in this part of the dream was that it was raining pretty heavily and it was dead quiet. Thinking that a little strange, we wander around to some guy's house, where a large number of ravenous dogs and wolves were being hoarded by him. I suppose we let the police/animal services know about the situation, because all of a sudden, I managed to pull all the doors on the pet carriers they'd been kept in simultaneously. The man doesn't like this very much because he starts shouting at us, and even worse, all the dogs start coming for us. Both of us ended up circling around the trailer and find the next trailer over unlocked, so we hide in there. As I was shutting the flimsy door behind us, one of the dog's jaws clamp around my wrist for a second or two, though this doesn't seem to effect me for the rest of the dream. I wasn't even bleeding.

There's another gap in my memory at this point, but it seemed like the time lost wasn't as much. Still in the trailer, we find that we're now perched somehow off of a freeway overpass or some other wall. It's raining even harder now and in an instant, the metal sheet walls melt away and we're left on rusted support beams, clinging to them for our lives. Turns out that we're actually not too high up, so we slide down and start walking down the streets and sidewalks. At this point in time I assumed that the impending disaster was happening, but looking around I don't remember seeing a whole lot out of place, other than it still being eerily silent. After plodding on for a bit, we find this huge treehouse-esque fort thing standing on several beams. We check it out for a minute and climb inside after deciding that it's safe, or at least better than wandering around in the rain. The strangest part is the next time lapse. It's the shortest of all of them, hardly a few minutes, and it makes the least amount of sense. Suddenly, we're walking down a normally busy area of an unnamed town and I spot a portly guy who smiles at me, only his teeth are sharp with two short prongs where the ends should be flat. I'd been so jarred by this that I stood still for a moment until my boyfriend pulled me along, unaware of this creepy man until I nodded over to him. Then, he guided me in front of him and pulled up my hood, and before I turned my head away, I noticed the man slowly step behind us and begin to follow. That's the very last part I remember, but it was so chilling to me that I didn't really notice until after I'd woken up a little bit and remembered it.

I think this may be the longest entry to date. I like it when my dreams are really detailed and I'm able to remember so much of it. As always, if you have any questions about anything, feel free to leave me a comment below!

Lots of Literature

So, one thing I came home with was books. Lots of them. At least for me, anyway. I've always enjoyed a good book, despite not reading a whole lot independently. Currently I'm in the second book of A Song of Ice and Fire series. It's pretty damn good so far, I can hardly put it down. Apparently a new volume is coming out not too far from now, so that's awesome. Before I found out, I always figured there were only four books in the entire series.

Next in line is the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I've seen the films plenty of times, but I've yet to read the books. I've been hearing from people that it's a little bit of a tricky read, but I'm excited to finally see it in its original form. I hope I won't be comparing it to the movies the whole time. Even in that case, I'm sure I'll enjoy it nonetheless.

What are your favorite books? Leave your answers in the comments!

Chaos

It seems like all these feelings I've been trying to keep a lid on are overwhelming me. Ever since I left California, there's this terrible yearning and bitterness I can't shake. It's only been 10 days, but it feels like so much longer than that. At the airport I had no choice but to pull myself together, and a few days after coming back it seemed like I was starting to be okay with being here. Then when I have nothing left to occupy myself with, all the memories and feelings and everything else sneak up on me. I still have so much to do here. I've been putting off getting a driver's license since I was 16, so I really need to get that situated. Also, due to financial matters, I would pretty much get a free ride through any college in the state if I chose to. I realize that both of those things are imperative and anyone else in their right mind would be all over it, but god damnit. I don't want to be stuck here for 4 more years. These thoughts have been swimming in my head for longer than I'd like, and I need to make a decision about something soon. Maybe it'll be a goal or something. All I want is to be back in San Francisco with the wind and the vicious seagulls and my heart.

Gah.Suppose it was time for one of these venting posts. Starting a blog means these things are an inevitability. Hopefully I'll get back to my dream logs soon enough.
